Unaware: Wayne Rooney pushes son Kai's buggy as he leaves Wings restaurant in Manchester with wife Coleen

The prospect of spending time with his wife Coleen and son Kai on a peaceful spring day must have been welcomed by busy footballer Wayne Rooney.

But the sports star's family day out was quickly ruined when he got a parking ticket on his silver Range Rover while having dinner at Manchester's Wings restaurant.

The 24-year-old looked less than impressed as he left the eatery and spotted the yellow envelope posted on his windscreen just minutes before by a passing warden

But the incident was quickly brushed off by Wayne and 24-year-old Coleen, who folded up Kai's buggy, got into the vehicle and drove home.

Wayne had been showing off his fatherly skills as he arrived at the restaurant pushing Kai's buggy, which also held Coleen's Chanel handbag, while also carrying a nappy bag.

The pair appear to have taken to being parents like ducks to water after welcoming little Kai into the world last November.

Wayne spoke recently about how becoming a father has affected him, explaining: 'Becoming a dad was the proudest moment of my life. Playing football does not even compare.'

He also said that while he will support Kai in whatever he wants to do when he grows up, he won't be encouraging him to follow his dad onto the football field.

Wayne added: 'I wouldn't push Kai to be a footballer - I'd be happy with whatever he wants to do.

'I'd probably rather he was into music rather than football to be honest. That's what I wanted to do if I wasn't a footballer.'

The pair were enjoying some time together, along with Kai, ahead of Wayne's match with Manchester United against Fulham on Sunday.
