Are England really in safe hands? Capello picks two goalkeepers who have never played in the Premier League

Another fine mess: Fabio Capello is in disarray

Fabio Capello's new dawn plunged deeper into chaos on Tuesday night as Watford's Scott Loach and Blackburn's third-choice goalkeeper Frank Fielding were summoned into the England squad.

Joe Hart will start in goal against Hungary at Wembley on Wednesday night but an injury to Ben Foster left Capello with a goalkeeper crisis.

After axing World Cup pair David James and Robert Green from the squad he named on Saturday, and the sudden retirement of Paul Robinson, the England manager is desperately short of options.

Fielding, 22, has yet to appear for Blackburn but has played on loan for Rochdale, Northampton and Wycombe. Loach, also 22, was excused U21 duty because Watford were playing in the Carling Cup at Aldershot last night but he did not play and was able to join up with England.

The goalkeeping fiasco reflects badly when fans are still angry about the shambles in South Africa.

Captain Steven Gerrard confessed he would jeer the England team at Wembley tonight if he had wasted money following them to the World Cup finals. 'Yes, I probably would boo,' said Gerrard. 'This is a proud nation with a massive following. I can understand their frustrations and I'm sure there will be boos.

'We have to deal with that. We have to be men. We have to take it on the chin. We deserve it. We let them down in the summer.

'They want to see the team go out and show how sorry we are by performing well and qualifying for the next tournament. We need to take their criticism and work hard to turn it round. Hopefully then things can be different.'

Capello is expected to start with a team comprising 10 players who were in the squad for South Africa, plus Fulham striker Bobby Zamora.

Arsenal teenager Jack Wilshere and 20-year-old club-mate Kieran Gibbs are expected to win their first senior caps in the second half.
