Limp wave: Beckham hobbles out in New York

David Beckham's recovery from an achilles injury is two months behind schedule, with the England midfielder revealing on Monday he won't be fit to play again until November.

That means Beckham, 34, will miss the whole of the Major League Soccer season, unless Los Angeles Galaxy reach the play-offs, while the next England game he could feature in is the Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales in March.

Beckham said: 'My mentality is to push it and get running as soon as possible, but it's an injury that has to take time to heal. It's frustrating because I've been working for the last two years to get into the England World Cup squad.'

Beckham had surgery last month after rupturing a tendon while on loan at AC Milan. He had previously said he expected to be back in action by September.
