Coleen Rooney shows off baby Kai for the first time (and he looks just like Wayne)

Introducing baby Kai: Coleen Rooney cuddles up to her five-month-old son as they watch the Grand National at Aintree on Saturday

After months of being hidden away from public view, Wayne and Coleen Rooney's son Kai has finally been pictured for the first time.

Just a week after Coleen spoke about his birth, the five-month-old baby was photographed in the arms of his mother over the weekend.

And given his fair skin, reddish hair and blue eyes, the little boy is clearly taking after his footballer father in the looks department.

While Wayne is one of the best footballers around at the moment, it's fair to say few would consider him the best looking.

Kai was seen sitting on his mother's lap playing with her betting slip as she watched AP McCoy and Don't Push It clinch the victory at the Grand National on Saturday.

In her first interview since Kai's birth last week, Coleen, 24, said her son looks just like his dad.

She told Hello! magazine: 'It looks like Kai's going to have fair skin just like Wayne, so he's got to be protected (from the sun) all the time.

'It's funny, because when he was born, he looked like he was going to have olive skin and dark eyes, then all of a sudden he changed and his eyes are blue and it looks like he'll have fair skin and hair.'

Showing she hasn't let motherhood distract from her passion for fashion, Coleen wore a floaty peach vintage dress and Christian Louboutin platforms.

Meanwhile, her young son was dressed like a typical baby boy in a pastel blue outfit and matching dummy.

Baby Kai's outing to the races was the first time he has been photographed since his birth at Liverpool Women's Hospital on November 2.

The couple surprised fans when they shunned lucrative magazine deals to debut their son to the world - despite being paid a reported £2.5million for the photographic rights to their 2008 wedding in Italy.

Kai attended the final day of the Grand National on Saturday with Coleen and his grandmother Colette McLoughlin.

The previous day, Coleen attended Ladies' Day without him as she showed off her post-baby curves in a figure-hugging Matthew Williamson dress.

Coleen's appearance at Aintree came after her husband's team Manchester United crashed out of the Champion's League after losing to Bayern Munich.

Having settled into motherhood with the help of her own mother Colette, Coleen said: 'I absolutely love it. It's hard - I am not going to say it's not - but now it's just getting used to things.

'He is great and a really good baby so I am lucky.'
