Jose Mourinho is ready to test Ashley Cole's commitment to Chelsea by offering England's left back the chance to join his Real Madrid revolution.
Mourinho is expected to confirm his move from Inter Milan to the Bernabeu at a meeting with Real president Florentino Perez on Monday, less than 48 hours after guiding the Italians to a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final
His top transfer targets will be Cole, valued at around £25million, and Inter right back Maicon. Cole is understood to be aware of Mourinho's plan.
Mourinho took Cole to Chelsea from Arsenal in acrimonious circumstances four years ago.

The 29-year-old has four years left on his £100,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea will fight to keep him.
Cole returned to action late in the season, after recovering from a broken ankle suffered in February, to help Chelsea win their first double.

However, he could be tempted by a fresh start in Spain after a tumultuous period in his private life, culminating in the break-up of his marriage to pop star Cheryl.
