Sprawling: Tiger Woods' new $50million estate in exclusive Jupiter Island, Florida is nearly completed

Most guys have to downgrade after a divorce - but Tiger Woods obviously isn't most guys.

The golfer, who divorced on August 23, is preparing to move into a sprawling 10-acre ocean front estate in Florida, complete with its own backyard golf course.

And despite giving his ex-wife an estimated $100million settlement he's obviously not short on cash, with his new pad valued at over $50million.

Woods' new place is on ultra exclusive Jupiter Island.

Woods paid $40 million in January, 2006 and stunned locals by immediately tearing down the house hat was there even though it was only 13 years old.

Documents filed last month in Martin County show that Woods has taken out a $54.5 million mortgage on the waterfront estate.

Woods will make payments to an entity called JRD Florida Ventures LLC. It's a Virginia company whose registered agent is an attorney with the firm that represented Woods' ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, in their divorce.

No details of the divorce settlement have been made public. The documents say Woods will pay the mortgage in full by January 2016.

Woods and Nordegren divorced Aug. 23. Mortgage papers were dated Aug. 25.

Tiger's squeaky clean image was shattered, along with his marriage, when it was revealed in November 2009 that he had engaged in an affair with New York club hostess, Rachel Uchitel.

Over a dozen more women subsequently came forward to claim affairs with Woods.

He promptly went into hiding, appearing three months later at a press conference where he apologised for his infidelities and announced he was seeking treatment for sex addiction

'I want to say to each of you simply and directly I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behaviour I engaged in,' he said.

'The issue involved here was my repeated irresponsible behaviour. I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable, and I am the only person to blame.'

'Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behaviour. As Elin pointed out to me, my real apology to her will not come in the form of words; it will come from my behaviour over time.

'We have a lot to discuss; however, what we say to each other will remain between the two of us.'

Woods and Nordegren met in 2001 at the British Open at Royal Lytham in England. They were introduced by Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, who Elin was working as a nanny for.

Woods proposed to Nordegren, a former model, during a trip to South Africa in 2003. They wed in October 2004.

Meanwhile, after missing the cut at an April tournament, losing his
swing coach in May and suffering a neck injury, embattled golf
champion Woods has been struggling to regain his form in the aftermath
of his humiliating fall from grace.

However, despite his recent disappointments on the golf course, Woods is still ranked as the world's number one.

In July 2010, Forbes announced Tiger Woods as the richest sportsman in the world earning a reported $105m in the past year.
