Coleen Rooney shows the strain as she emerges for the first time since husband Wayne's sex scandal

Heartbroken: Coleen Rooney emerged from her parents' home in Liverpool today

Coleen Rooney emerged today for the first time since her husband Wayne Rooney was accused of cheating on her with a prostitute.

The WAG looked tired and drawn as she left her parents' home in Formby, Merseyside, with the strain of the scandal clearly taking a toll.

Dressed in a beige blazer and jeans, she was quickly ushered out of the residence and whisked into a waiting car.

There was no sign of the couple's ten-month-old son Kai, who is also believed to be staying with her parents Tony and Colette McLoughlin.

The future of her high-profile marriage is still uncertain.

Wayne has told friends he will make no attempt to rescue his marriage if his wife decides to leave him.

The 24-year-old multimillionaire footballer is said not to care whether Coleen seeks a divorce after a prostitute claimed that he paid her thousands of pounds for sex while his wife was pregnant.

Rooney, who is to play for England against Switzerland tonight in Basle, is apparently adamant that he will not be criticised by Coleen and her parents.

A source said: 'Wayne is not prepared to take any s*** off the wife and her family, not least because they're all living a very nice life off the back of his talent.

'If she can't handle it and it's over, so be it. Seems he thinks he can pretty much do what the hell he likes because they'd all be nothing without him.'

As Wayne prepared to play for England in Switzerland, devastated Coleen told him: 'I don't need you anymore.

'I don't want to see you. Just go and play football.'

While her father barred Wayne from ever visiting his home again, saying: 'He is never, ever setting foot in this house again.'

According to vice girl Jennifer Thompson, Rooney never made any attempt to conceal their relationship.

She claimed that they met for sex at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Salford and that after one encounter Rooney summoned a member of the hotel staff demanding cigarettes, handing over £200 in exchange for a packet of 20 Marlboro.

Miss Thompson said that he had openly spoken to her in front of Manchester United team mates including Michael Owen in Rio Ferdinand's Italian restaurant, Rosso.

And tellingly, Rooney and his advisers made no legal move to gag Miss Thompson - in contrast to other members of the England squad who have spent tens of thousands obtaining court orders preventing their names and details of their alleged indiscretions being published.

The source added that Rooney 'is not enjoying the attention or embarrassment' but added: 'He's not going to be walking through the front door on Wednesday s****ing himself by the sounds of it.'

A friend of the couple told the Sun: 'Wayne told her a story was running about him with a prostitute - and that it was true.

'He didn't try and wriggle out of it. He just said he wished it had never happened. Coleen was devastated and that devastation has turned to anger.

'She's not a desperate WAG, she's an independent woman. The days of having to put up with humiliation are over.'

One of Rooney's own cousins yesterday urged Coleen to divorce him.

Natalie Rooney, a model whose father John is the brother of the footballer's father Wayne Sr, said her cousin was 'dirty' and Coleen should leave.

She also said she was 'ashamed' to call Rooney part of the family.

In a message on the social networking site Twitter, Natalie told Coleen: 'Just bag him & bin him. You deserve a million times better. Not someone who does this to you and treats you like dirt while he's out sleeping with dirt.'

The 21-year-old continued: 'I'm just glad she has her little man (their baby son Kai) there with her to keep her strong.

'Or the girl (Coleen) wouldn't have been able to keep herself together.'

Natalie tried to end a fallout with Coleen which happened three years ago by writing on Twitter: 'Hey @ ColeenRooney, not sure whether you got my txt or not. Really sorry to hear what's happened.

'I'm actually ashamed to call him family. Just letting you know I'm here if you need me. Just give me a call, I've still got the same number. Let's put the past behind us. Xxxx.'

On Sunday, Natalie wrote on Facebook how she had lost respect for her cousin.

'Other footballers have girls begging to have sex with them,' she wrote. 'He pays for it. Lost all my respect for him now!'
