Casual weekend: After going full-time glam during New York Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham dressed down to watch son Brooklyn play football

After running all over New York in binding leather trousers and towering 6-inch heels during Fashion Week, even stiletto-lover Victoria Beckham was relieved to ditch the Louboutins for a casual family outing on Sunday.

But the ever-stylish designer found herself having a wardrobe crisis when faced with dressing down, tweeting 'what to wear?' to her followers before watching her son Brooklyn play football.

The 36-year-old decided on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt with the slogan 'what comes around goes around'.

She could not resist adding a touch of glamour to the outfit though, donning a pair of sunglasses from her own collection and a Louis Vuitton fox tail bag.

Victoria is a recent Twitter adopter, but has quickly gained over 160,000 with her behind-the-scenes updates.

'More soccer/football!!!!!!!what to wear????VERY vintage jeans!Think I need some new ones!!!!!and a new T shirt!!!!x VB x' she said earlier in the day, adding:

'Vintage jeans,T shirt,#victoria beckham glasses. On the way to soccer. So nice to leave the heels at home!So good to be back in LA!!!'

Soccer style: The designer still cared about her appearance for watching from the sidelines with other parents, tweeting 'More soccer/football! What to wear?'

The mother-of-three was clearly relishing being back in her husband's arms, remaining glued to his side for the entire game, while he affectionately draped an arm over her shoulder.

David, 35, mimicked Victoria's laidback style in orange shorts, a grey T-shirt and baseball cap.

The couple were joined by five-year-old son Cruz, whose choice of clothing may have been controversial in the Beckham household: he wore a Chelsea football kit.

Even family dog Coco tagged along. Victoria uploaded a picture of their beloved hound chewing Brooklyn's football boots with the caption 'Coco's coming too! All about a ponytail and Louis Vuitton. X VB X'

The Beckhams looked like any other family as they lounged on the grass, playing with Coco and cheering on Brooklyn. Victoria poked fun at the cultural differences between her adopted home and her native Britain, tweeting a confused

'Football,soccer,football,soccer,football,soccer,football!!!!!!!!!!!Too funny people! X VB X'

Victoria's latest collection was a success at New York Fashion Week, with the star's show landing the front page of esteemed fashion publication Women's Wear Daily.

Relaxed style: The 36-year-old's casual wear of jeans and a T-shirt were a welcome change from her Fashion Week uniform of heels and skinny trousers

Speaking about the honour during an appearance on US daytime chat show The View, she said: 'It's been a real whirlwind. To be on the cover of WWD is such a big deal.'

'With this dress that was on the cover it was me in my studio, with a metre-and-a-half of parachute silk, draping it on myself and tying it in a knot and saying, "OK, what do I think?"

'And to look at where it started and see it on the cover, it is incredible, it really is a dream come true.'
