Back to reality: Ashley Cole arrives at London's Heathrow Airport today after a fun-filled break in Los Angeles

Ashley Cole arrived back in England today, following a fun-filled break in Los Angeles.

The footballer, who was wearing a cartoon Felix The Cat T-Shirt, strolled casually through Heathrow Airport this morning as he returned to the real world.

During his boys' holiday in Los Angeles following England's World Cup exit, Ashley was spotted cavorting with several attractive young women, leading to rumours he may have started a new relationship.

However, the sportsman grew extremely annoyed when it was suggested he had had dalliances with English university students Melissa Naik and Ellie Hartley.

He replied: 'People thinking I'm sleeping around and romping with women. It's all lies. I'm just trying to enjoying myself.

'These two girls lives are being ruined by this whole thing.'

Now Ashley is back in the UK, it is unclear whether he will contact estranged wife Cheryl Cole, who is now back at home after being treated for malaria in hospital over the last week.

It had previously been claimed Ashley was calling and texting regularly to check if Cheryl was feeling any better.

A source told the Sunday People: 'He has been checking on her twice a day and there has been a stream of get well text messages.

'Ashley might have got a lot of flak for cheating on her but there's no doubt he still cares about Cheryl.'

Worried: Now he is back in England, will Ashley go and see estranged wife Cheryl, who is suffering from Malaria?

Ashley has returned to the UK ahead of pre-season training with Chelsea, which starts on July 26.

However, there have been rumours the left-back is considering signing a new deal which will see him play for Real Madrid, and will also mean a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho.

But Chelsea say they have had no indication from Ashley that he wishes to leave the club.
