Homecoming: Cher Lloyd is joined by mentor Cheryl Cole on stage as she performs a gig in her hometown of Malvern
Cheryl Cole has become famous for her heavily choreographed dance routines to track such as Fight For This Love and Promise This.
But on Tuesday night it seemed the 27-year-old star's dancing ability had entirely deserted her as she took to the stage in Malvern, Worcestershire, with protégé Cher Lloyd.
Cher pulled her mentor up on the stage as she performed Soulja Boy's Turn My Swag On during her homecoming performance, but Cheryl ended up embarrassing herself with some cringe-making 'mum dancing' in front of the crowd of hundreds of fans.
Waving her arms in the air in what she clearly thought was a 'trendy' way of moving around the stage, Cheryl was entirely shown up by 17-year-old Cher, who had the moves down to a tee.
But Cher's fans weren't initially impressed by the performance, after she kept them waiting in the cold before finally taking to the stage late.
They began jeering her as she started singing, but later warmed up to her performance.
However, Cher's concert might not be enough to win The X Factor final this weekend, judging by odds.
The teenager has odds of 1/5 to go in the first elimination, and odds of only 25/1 to win the show.

Cher's attitude has also caused problems, with viewers who have labelled her a diva, and with judge Louis Walsh, who didn't hold back on his true feelings for the teenager during an interview on Radio 1.
He said: 'Cher is a bit of a brat. She's acting like she's already a star. She's in a competition, you know. I bet she's voted out first this week.
'She's not the most likeable person in the world. She's very watchable, but she'd probably be a nightmare for me to manage.'
Giving it her all: Cher performs a selection of songs for the fans who have queued for hours to see her sing live
What a response: Cher and Cheryl are greeted by hundreds of screaming fans as they take to the stage
And it's partly Cher's attitude which has led to the internet hate campaign against the singer ahead of this weekend's final.
As the pressure on the contestants mounts, already fragile Cher has become victim to threats and bullying on Twitter and Facebook.
After the teen scraped through to the final at the expense of 50-year-old Mary Byrne on Sunday night, 'Hate Cher' became a trending topic on Twitter.
Nighttime glamour: Cher and Cheryl both donned tight trousers and sexy tops for their evening trip out
The phrase was the fourth most used phrased on the social networking site in the UK and one of the top terms in the world in the hours following the results show.
A Facebook group called 'I Hate Cher Lloyd' has attracted 12,510 members as fans of the ITV series continue to speculate about the series being fixed to ensure the Cheryl Cole-lookalike would go through.
Furious fans stormed the internet, writing on forums and social networking sites.
Overwhelmed: Cher looked slightly emotional at the amount of support she received from fans
We still love you! Despite the hate campaign surrounding Cher, many people came forward in defense of the teenager
'I would have love to see someone destroy cher's ego! #xfactor rigged! #hatecher,' one Twitter user wrote.
'Is it any wonder #hatecher is trending? The public are fed up with these fake ppl crying, not singing well, but going thru coz Simon likes u,' said another.
Another viewer ranted: 'She comes across as a spoilt brat, her performances are rubbish and she thinks she can "change British music". That is why I #hatecher'.
But fortunately for the singer, for every hateful comment, she has hordes of devoted fans supporting her.
Homecoming queen: Earlier in the day X Factor finalist Cher returned to Malvern to greet her local fans
I'm over here! The diminutive teen was swamped by the locals in Malvern
Her trip to Malvern on Tuesday proved that she has the backing of her hometown, with locals queuing up for blocks to catch a glimpse of the singer.
The contestant was swamped by excited youngsters at her old primary school Somers Park School, waving signs and elbowing in for a hug or a photo.
Miss Lloyd's own Facebook fan group has an astounding 1,144,452 members.
Getting ready for the final: Cheryl's two finalists, Cher and Rebecca Ferguson, were seen out in London today
Swamped: One Direction's Louis was swarmed by female fans as he stepped out in Covent Garden
A fan commented on the page: 'You don't understand how exited I am when you got through to the Final. I was running round the house shouting "Go on lass". I actually love you, You are amazing.'
'Thank god your [sic] in the finals,' wrote another. 'I don't even know how you got in the bottom two - You're like the best singer ever. Hope you win.'
Twitter users also jumped to defend the singer. 'I'm not a big fan of Cher but #hatecher is just mean. Give her some slack,' one wrote.
Another added: 'I think its terrible people got #hatecher trending you dont hate her shes just 17, you've never met her, you Just don't like her singing voice!'
