The 31-year-old actress had her wet hair pulled into a rough top knot as she arrived at a dance studio in the city.
Looking fresh-faced in casual jogging bottoms, black ballet pumps, and a baggy grey cardigan, Holmes, a dance enthusiast, was without her daughter Suri as she arrived at the studio.
Husband Tom Cruise was also absent - he is currently filming Mission Impossible 4 in Prague - while Holmes has filming commitments in Hollywood.
She has been shooting her new movie Jack and Jill in the downtown area of Los Angeles.

The film is set for release in 2011.
