But being stuck at the the top of a huge Christmas tree was probably not what Chantelle Houghton had in mind when she planned to scale the dizzying heights of fame.
The reality TV star, 27, was hoisted 54ft in the air and place atop the giant tree for a Christmas promotion at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex yesterday.
Dressed in a long, pink chiffon fairy dress, Chantelle, who was born in Brentford, which is not too far away from the shopping centre, was sent high in the air.
And if she was at all scared about her new job, she gave nothing away as she clutched her wand and beamed for the cameras.
But she took to her Twitter page later on in the day to reveal that she had been quite terrified.

Chantelle was launching Lakeside's new festive Grotto Lotto promotion - which offers Christmas shoppers a chance to win £1,000 daily for the next 12 days to spend at Lakeside.
A spokesman for Lakeside said: 'Chantelle did such an amazing job, she was wearing a harness underneath the dress and supported by wires.'

She had to pretend to the famous faces in the house that she was a member of a fictional band called Kandy Floss and ended up winning the show with 56.4 percent of the public vote.
She also met pop star Samuel Preston, 28, in the house, who she married in August of that year but they were divorced in November 2007.

After leaving the house, they met for an intimate dinner and many thought they had rekindled their romance, until Preston announced on his official blog insisting there was nothing going on between them.
Chantelle was also recently made the new face of La Senza underwear.
