Boys and their toys, eh?
Even when in the company of beautiful, scantily-clad women, it seems that the world’s top sports stars would rather be fiddling with their high-tech gizmos – appearing more interested in checking their emails than checking out their WAGs’ toned bodies.
As our series of candid photographs shows, on sun-kissed holidays around the world, footballers, boxers and tennis aces are united by their compulsion to fiddle with the latest must-have phones and laptops rather than engage with their glamorous partners.
In scenes that will be familiar to gadget widows everywhere, what should have been romantic breaks instead become excuses to catch up with online admin or play video games.
The women can only gaze absent-mindedly into the middle distance as their other halves stare lovingly into their tiny LCD screens.

By the look of concentration on their faces, Wayne Rooney, Peter Crouch and Steven Gerrard are all engrossed in checking their emails, updating their Facebook statuses or texting friends while on their five-star breaks.

If only they had been so focused on the pitch, England might have had a very different World Cup campaign.
Even the world’s top boxers seem content punching away at their keypads rather than talking to the beautiful girls by their side. Whoever said sportsmen were stupid...?
