Kanye's means prosperity and Cheryl's is a symbol of love: The Hindu charms the A-list love - and what their choices say about them

By TAMARA ABRAHAM

With the band: Cheryl Cole, arriving at the X Factor studios on Saturday, wearing her 'Heart' Chakra bracelet

With a slender red cotton band around his wrist, the uninitiated might think Kanye West was the latest celebrity devotee of Kabbalah.

But on closer examination, they might notice that it bears a gold disc with a flower motif on it. And that fellow A-listers including Sienna Miller and Cheryl Cole also wear similar bracelets in different colours, each bearing a different design.

Thankfully they have not all joined the latest religious cult - though these bracelets they are all sporting do take their lead from religion.

They are bracelets designed by London jewellery label Daisy, and each corresponds to one of seven Chakras - a Hindu concept relating to different kinds of energy.

Each colour has a different meaning, for example Cheryl's green 'Heart' Chakra band is supposed to remind the wearer that they are worthy of love. Telling, given that she has just been through a divorce.

Sienna has been photographed wearing the 'Brow' Chakra bracelet, which relates to 'intuition, perception and imagination' - all characteristics she might need to call upon in her work as an actress.

And Kanye West's 'Base' Chakra relates to 'stability, grounding and prosperity'. Well, as long as something keeps him grounded.

Grounded: Kanye West wearing his 'Base' Chakra band at a party for Jade Jagger's Jezebel label last month

High brow: Sienna Miller arriving at LAX airport earlier this month, wearing her 'Brow' Chakra bracelet

The company, which began life as a Portobello Market stall, has also taken orders for the £75 wristbands from Katy Perry, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Alexa Chung, while Jude Law apparently 'wears his constantly'.

Of course the bracelets do not promise to 'protect' or 'guide' the wearer - rather, they are a reminder of affirmations associated with each Chakra. Sienna's comes with the phrase 'I am open to the wisdom within'; Kanye's with the line: 'I am here. I am real.'

Nor do you need to buy into the meaning behind the designs - they are pretty pieces to wear regardless, though given the price, they are likely to appeal more to people who have an understanding of the Chakra concept.

Joining the Daisy chain: Katy Perry, Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all own Chakra bracelets

Daisy's James Boyd, who designed the bracelets after an illness led him to discover yoga and the Indian healing system of Ayurveda, is delighted by the success of his design, and has expanded the collection to include chain necklaces as well.

'Since launching the Chakra Bracelets 3 weeks ago we've sold out 3 times over,' he told MailOnline.

'In Daisy's history we've never seen such an amazing amount of initial interest and sales in a new collection.

'People seem totally enchanted and enamoured by the bracelets and that makes me extremely happy and proud.'

Just what Mexico needs... a gym run by Madonna

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Get into the groove: Madonna teaches a dance class at the opening of her new gym in Mexico City

It's not exactly the first location one might associate as the chosen spot for a grand gym opening from the Queen of Pop.

And one might have thought there may have been other more worthy projects she could have put her very famous name to.

But as it is, Madonna has opened the doors to her brand new Hard Candy gym in Mexico City, and treated a hand selected troupe of new members to work out with her.

5,6,7,8: The Material Girl's new venture is called Hard Candy Fitness

Standing at the top of the class in head-to-toe Nike fitness gear, the superstar led a group of 20 hand-picked members through a routine to music by Paul Oakenfold, the DJ who opened her tour last year.

And there is no mistaking who owns the gym.

A huge mural of Warhol-esque images of the Queen of Pop greets each client as they walk through the sliding doors.

The 30,000-square-foot building is located in the city's upscale Bosques de las Lomas neighborhood.

High energy: The singer led 20 hand-picked gym members through a routine with music by Paul Oakenfold, who opened her last tour

Grand opening: The fitness fanatic cut the ribbon at a ceremony earlier

Earlier in the day she attended a ribbon cutting ceremony dressed in a black and white striped dress and thigh-high boots.

The star said she chose Mexico City because it was a stop on last year's Sticky & Sweet tour, which grossed $408 million and she liked the energy of the people.

The gym's name, which shares the title of her last album, she said, is the perfect combination of 'hard body' and 'eye candy'.

'It's a sexy name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow,' the singer said.

New franchise: She chose the city to open her first gym because 'she liked the energy of the people'

Good example: The 52-year-old health junkie showed off her own toned physique in a mini dress and thigh-high boots

'She chose the graphics, colors, the machines,' said Chris Dedicik, general director of California-based New Evolution Ventures, Madonna's partner in creating the gym.

'She has weighed in on the choreography of all the classes and given them a twist to make them more dynamic, more special and to better reflect her style.'

Members can do cardiovascular exercises on five types of advanced-technology machines chosen by Madonna, many with individual viewing screens and iPod docks.

The yoga instructors are trained in various styles of the ancient Indian art, inspired by the knowledge the singer has accumulated in her travels.

Material Girl: Madonna's face lines the walls of her new gym in Mexico, called Hard Candy Fitness

'Harder is better': The singer hand-picked the graphics, colours and the machines

The yoga room will also have a special wall used in Iyengar yoga, one of very few in the world according to Dedicik, with ropes and steps to help people with less physical ability. A balcony outside will feature plants and Zen-style decor, all at the singer's request.

'If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don't skimp on them and the same is true for the gym,' she said. 'We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym.'

Membership runs 2,000 pesos a month, about $160, generally in line with what the best gyms charge in Mexico City.

She's watching you! Madonna's presence looms large throughout the facility

The one-time fee for joining is 10,400 pesos, about $830, which includes the first two months of membership. Those who signed up before the opening paid an initiation fee of 8,900 pesos, a little over $700, also including the first two months.

Members who have signed up so far didn't seem to care about matching Madonna's workout feats. Those using the gym during a weekend preview said they liked the equipment and features and cited proximity to their home or work as their reason for joining.

Ronen Waiss, businessman and Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Mexico, said his office is two doors away and he registered long before he was told it was a venture by Madonna.

Madonna mania: Hundreds of fans queued outside for a glimpse of their idol

'I think it's super sexy and motivating of course, but I didn't know till after I joined,' said Waiss, 32.

'But it's attractive to me because it's close and has the best computer technology. That's what caught my attention.'

Clara Ruiz, a 59-year-old housewife, said she, too, chose the gym for location. But she likes the facility and wishes Madonna success in her new venture.

'She has a lot of experience in this,' Ruiz said. 'She's done it all her life. I think she chose what for her is the best.'

Lance Armstrong cuddles 'beautiful' baby Olivia on the beach

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Doting father: Baby Olivia Marie rests on her father Lance Armstrong's chest as the family holiday in Miami

She may be his fifth child, but Lance Armstrong couldn't be prouder of newborn daughter Olivia Marie.

The cyclist tweeted a picture of the month-old baby today, writing: 'Hanging poolside with a beautiful little lady.'

Her head laying on his chest, Olivia looked to be listening to her famous father's heartbeat.

Keeping watch: Lance kept a close eye on both Olivia and his son Max

Despite her tender age, Olivia joined her parents and 17-month-old brother Maxwell Edward at the beach in Miami today.

Doting father Lance, 39, kept his precious youngster swaddled away from the sun in a protective blanket, keeping a close eye on son Maxwell as he played nearby.

The family unit was completed by their mother Anna Hansen, Lance's girlfriend of two years.

Daddy's boy: Lance carries Maxwell Edward on the beach

Anna and Lance met through his work with the charity where she works, First Descents, a non-profit that works with cancer survivors.

Both babies were born after Lance's battle against testicular cancer - which saw him return to full health after an initially poor diagnosis.

Lance, a seven times winner of the Tour De France, also has three older children from his marriage to ex-wife Kristin Armstrong - twin daughters Isabelle and Grace, nine, and son, Luke, 11.

Michael Douglas is optimistic about his recovery as he announces return to work

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

On the mend: Michael Douglas has signed on to play Liberace in a new film which begins shooting in the spring

Oscar winning actor Michael Douglas has been in treatment for throat cancer since August.

But the 66-year-old star is so eager to return to work that he has signed on to take the lead role in the Steven Soderbergh directed biopic Liberace which begins shooting in May.

The film will chronicle the life and fame of the extroverted and celebrated pianist and also stars fellow Oscar winner Matt Damon.

The veteran actor recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his treatment and revealed that he will learn in January if the cancer has been eliminated.

Doctors have told him that his type of cancer has an 80% cure rate.

Douglas admitted to the weekly trade magazine that his diagnosis has brought him closer to his 93-year-old father Kirk, with whom his relationship has always been strained.

'He really made an effort,' Michael said.
'He was back here almost 10 days. He came over everyday. He was great.'

Larger than life: During his heyday, which spanned the 50s and 70s the always flamboyant Liberace was the highest paid entertainer in the world

He voiced his understanding for the reasons behind the breakdown in their relationship in the past.

'In those key years, when Kirk was doing five movies a year, if we saw him it was only out of his guilt,' Douglas says.

He also acknowledges that he may have repeated that pattern with his own son, Cameron Douglas, 31, who was recently jailed on drug-related charges.

'I'm sure it's not easy, either, being a third generation,' Douglas says. 'Kirk was all-consumed, was overworked. Probably like myself at a certain time in my life.'

Let it snow! Kate Garraway leads the celebrities taking advantage of the freezing temps in furry fashion

By ANDREA MAGRATH

Winter wardrobe: Kate Garraway looks untroubled by the freezing temps in her fur coat

It was not just mere mortals who had to battle the elements when Londoners woke up to early winter snow this morning.

But while most of us dealt with delayed trains and buses, local celebrities appeared to have one thing on their minds - what to wear?

Kate Garraway led the way with an all-out winter wardrobe, spotted outside the ITV studios in a full-length fur coat.

Hats on! Fellow Daybreak news presenter Tasmin Lucia Khan left the London studios in a padded jacket and trendy trapper fur hat

Wrapped up in a sequinned beanie hat, a cozy jumper and heels, the Daybreak presenter looked untroubled by the chill as she left work this morning.

Other stars braving the elements were Elle Macpherson and Fearne Cotton, who both got caught in today's unseasonal snow.

Supermodel Elle managed to remain glamorous without a pair of Wellie boots or mittens in sight on this morning's school run.

Warm enough? Elle Macpherson makes the quick dash to her car in a fur-lined jacket and leather trousers on this morning's school run

Only having to make the short dash from her car to the school gate, the 47-year-old wore tight leather trousers, a knitted jumper and high heeled boots.

She added a cap, fur-lined jacket and sunglasses to the outfit, but looked like she might have been regretting leaving the gloves behind as she curled her cold hands up in her sleeves.

Fearne Cotton also took advantage of the opportunity for some winter fashion today, sporting a Russian-style fur hat.

Battling the elements: Fearne Cotton was caught in the snow as she left BBC Radio 1

The 29-year-old looked stylish as she left BBC's Radio 1 studios with an unmbrella in hand to avoid the snow flakes.

But her open coat, skirt and stockings ensemble may have left the radio DJ shivering as she made her way home.

One celebrity not too taken with the weather is Tina O'Brien.
The Coronation Street star was left stranded after her car broke down.

Car trouble: A shivering Tina O'Brien was stranded after her car broke down in the cold

The 27-year-old was forced to wait in her freezing car with her two-year-old daughter Scarlett for three hours to be towed.

The actress kept herself entertained during the lengthy wait by chatting to fans on Twitter.

She wrote: 'Of all the days 4 the car 2 break down, and in rush hour traffic, getting some seriously filthy looks Jeeze I didn't do it on purpose people!'

She added: 'So cold :( come on mr breakdown Man please hurry up hypothermia is setting in.'

After a few hours, and uploading a photo of herself looking less than impressed, O'Brien gave up hope of being rescued by the AA and called on her father.
'Have abandoned all hope of ever getting rescued so dad is here to save me,' she tweeted.

While London celebrities only had to brave the cold temperatures and a light dusting of snow, those living in the countryside woke to find a blanket of white surrounding them.

Kerry Katona battled the slippery snow as she made her way to a waiting car outside her Surrey home this morning.

Also sporting the celebrity-winter uniform of fur, the reality star, currently filming her new series, stepped gingerly towards the vehicle with her minders in tow.

Where's the White Witch when you need her? Chronicles Of Narnia stars Georgie Henley and Anna Popplewell brave the snow for Voyage Of The Dawn Treader

By SARAH BULL

Braving the cold: Georgie Henley and Anna Popplewell (right) ignored the snow as they arrived at the premiere of The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader

It might have been one of the coldest nights of the year so far in London, but that didn't stop The Chronicles Of Narnia stars Georgie Henley and Anna Popplewell braving the cold for the premiere of The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader.

Henley, 15, wore a pretty brown lace dress for the occasion, while 21-year-old Popplewell went for a more revealing outfit in a low-cut strapless black outfit.

And despite the snow continuously falling on London's Leicester Square, where the Royal Film Screening was held, the girls shunned big coats and scarves to ensure they looked as glamorous as possible.

Is it cold? Guests wait anxiously to get into the cinema to watch the film as they stand on the red carpet

While Henley, who has already been tipped as 'the next Emma Watson', might only be 15, she has already starred as Lucy Pevensie in three films in the franchise.

But she and Anna, who plays Lucy's big sister Susan in the films, had some red carpet competition from X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson, who maintained her vintage style in an unusual eggshell blue dress coat, which she teamed with a sparkly bag and silver heels.

Matt Cardle and One Direction, who, with Rebecca, made it through to the show's semi-final this weekend, looked dapper in their outfits as they posed for photographers on the red carpet.

Braving the cold: The girls managed big smiles for the cameras despite the bitterly cold evening

Another famous X Factor face at the event was last year's winner Joe McElderry, who sings on the soundtrack for the film.

Asked recently how he got involved in the film and who invited him to sing single There's A Place For Us, McElderry said: 'I got approached by Fox to do it and asked if I would sing this song, and I was absolutely honoured and I was like, "Definitely".'

The film, directed by Michael Apted, features Henley, from Ilkley, Yorkshire, and Skandar Keynes, 19, who plays Edmund Pevensie.

Henley and Keynes first joined the Narnia adventure when they were just seven and 12 respectively, but now their journeys come to an end as Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the last book in which they feature.

In the film, they return to the mythical world of Narnia with their cousin Eustace, played by 17-year-old Londoner Will Poulter.

They are transported to Narnia's Eastern Sea, and are rescued by their old comrade King Caspian - formerly Prince Caspian, played by Ben Barnes - aboard the Dawn Treader.

Looking dapper: One Direction (left to right), Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik looked smart in suits and ties

It took 21 weeks and $2.7million (£1.7million) to build a life-size version of the ship - which was not even seaworthy.

The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader also features Liam Neeson, who reads the voice of Aslan, and Simon Pegg as the voice of warrior mouse Reepicheep.

However, while Henley has been compared to Harry Potter star Watson, she says she's not sure how true the comparison is.

Co-stars: Georgie, who plays Lucy Pevensie in the film, poses with Ben Barnes, who stars as Prince Caspian

Glamorous girls: Anna Popplewell who plays Lucy's sister Susan and Australian actress Laura Brent (right) who appears as Lilliandil went for full-length glamour

She said: 'I take It as a compliment because she is so smart, but I don’t think I could front a Burberry campaign or anything like that.

'I don’t think modelling is something I could do because I like food too much! I had an Asian platter for two the other day and I finished it all myself. It was so yummy.'

Ben Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian, said he was disappointed to have missed the chance to meet the Queen because of his commitments he made to perform the stage version of Sebastian Faulks's novel Birdsong directed by Sir Trevor Nunn,

He said: 'We didn't know that it would be a royal premiere so I arranged to come to this and then nip back before anyone missed me.

'Then the Queen decided to come so I'm devastated about that, but the theatre will be full of people who would be disappointed if didn't go.'

Director Apted said he hoped the Queen would enjoy the performance. He said: 'I'm only sitting two seats away from her so I hope she likes it. I think she will.

What an honour: Henley watches as a smiling Liam Neeson greets the Queen after the film

Smiles all round: Anna Popplewell and Will Poulter shake hands with the monarch, who wore a pretty blue dress

'I think it's for everybody. It's a very emotional film and I think people like that. I'm sure she'll be kind to it anyway.'

After the screening, the cast and crew waited to meet the Queen and Prince Philip.

A smiling Neeson said afterwards: 'I'm told the Queen doesn't see many movies, nor her husband, but they're coming tonight and that's pretty special.'

rapped up warm: Queen Elizabeth wore a long charcoal wrap over her royal blue embellished dress

The Royal Film Performance is the major fundraising event of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CBTF).

The Queen is patron of the charity, which supports film and TV employees and their families in times of hardship.

Actor and writer Julian Fellowes, who welcomed the Queen to the cinema, said: 'The support of the Queen for the CTBF is fantastically important. It keeps the whole profile of the organisation in front.'

The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader is released on 9th December.

I'm A Celebrity: Did Kayla Collins REALLY have to wear such a revealing monokini for Celebrity Chest task?

By SARAH BULL

Revealing: Kayla Collins wore an incredibly revealing monokini to take part in the Celebrity Chest task with Jenny Eclair on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

When she was told she would have to wear swimwear to take part in the Celebrity Chest task on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, exhibitionist Kayla Collins couldn't believe her luck.

The 23-year-old Playboy Playmate quickly searched through her array of swimsuits to find the skimpiest one, before eventually deciding on an incredibly revealing black monokini.

However, 50-year-old comedian Jenny Eclair, who took part in the Celebrity Chest with Kayla, was less than impressed when she found out she would also have to don a swimsuit.

Get snappy: Jenny and Kayla had to unscrew teeth from a crocodile's mouth inside a pungent swamp

However, Jenny said: 'Kayla was fantastic, every time she got out of the swamp she did it with a beautiful ballet toe, pointed ballet toe. I was envious of that!'

Despite winning the chest, Jenny said she didn't hold out much hope that the rest of camp would be able to answer the question to fully unlock the chest.

She said: 'We won’t win it, we never do. We always get the chest wrong. Completely pointless exercise, might as well have just sat in that camp all afternoon.'

But when Jenny and Kayla returned to the camp, the rest of the celebrities were keen for them to have a wash before they tried to answer the chest.

And the pair were furious when their fellow contestants tried to start answering which of the quotes was said by which of their former campmates - to win the chest they had to correctly answer six out of the seven questions.

Going for it: The girls eventually managed to win the chest after working well together as a team

Jenny was not happy, adding: 'We did all the hard work for that, we should read them out.'

She moaned: 'Well that’s lovely for me isn’t it? Wearing a swimming costume next to Kayla, I’ve got a massive rash rampaging all up my neck and shoulders, I’ve got cellulite riddling all up the backs of my legs and I’m going to be standing next to Kayla in a swimming costume.'

She then added: 'Kayla is much much fitter than I am, in every sense of the word.'
As they got close to the chest area, Jenny and Kayla smelt a 'horrible stench' from the pool, and quickly realised they would have to get in to it.

The aim of the game was to pump open the jaws of the plastic crocodile, unscrew its teeth and place them on to a giant key.

They would have to get a certain amount of teeth to release the smaller key that would unlock the chest.

But Jenny refused to wear just a swimming costume, insisting on wearing her shorts, adding: 'I’m not taking my shorts off when I’m standing next to a 22 or 23-year-old glamour model, I’m not mad!'

And while the pair quickly got the hang of the task, Jenny said the hardest part was getting out of the swamp elegantly.

Delighted: Kayla couldn't conceal her delight as Aggro helped her and Jenny take the chest into camp

She then added: 'For me that was a lot more strenuous and a lot more difficult than doing any of the Bush Tucker Trials I’ve done…It nearly killed me…I think when we came back me and Kayla should read them out.'

Kayla then read out the quotes and the celebrities succeeded in guessing the answers to all seven quotes and won spices, salt and pepper and seasoning.

The quotes included: 'People forget that I'm that old, they think I'm Peter Pan', which was said by Shaun.'

The celebrities later started talking about Kayla, with Dom saying they had started to see the real side of Playboy star Kayla.

He said: 'The real Kayla is coming out and I don't think it's a very pretty sight. I think she's probably very high maintenance in real life.'

It was 'Dunnygate', where Kayla had to clean up faeces left in the jungle toilet, that ensured the celebrities began to get to know the real star.

Run! Dom Joly completed the Bushtucker Trial of Savage Garden Centre

Struggling: Dom had to root around in a variety of horrible containers to find the stars

Dom added: 'Dunnygate was the real Kayla there, that's pretty girl syndrome. She had an anger in her eyes - she was angry.

'She’s not stupid, well she is quite stupid but she is street smart. She is tough.'

He added in the Bush Telegraph: 'The real Kayla is coming out and it’s not a pretty sight. I reckon she’s really high maintenance in real life. Ball buster is the word I’d use.'

Yesterday saw the exit of camp moaner Gillian McKeith, and the rest of the celebrities couldn't have been happier.

Former Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder was absolutely delighted when the nutritionist was voted out, declaring: 'Fantastic, what a good choice public - I love the public. The public are very intelligent and wise.

'I'm a so relieved she's gone - all's fair in love and hate.'

Afterwards in the Bush Telegraph, Shaun said: 'It was wonderful to say goodbye to Gillian - absolutely great!

'I’m glad it was Gillian that went, personally for me, pure selfishness, couldn’t have been better.'

It's a smelly job: Dom had to root around in a huge pile of dung to find a star

Shaun's happy mood was then noticed by the rest of the campmates, especially Stacey who said: 'Shaun is as happy as Larry.

'I don’t know if its just because Gillian’s gone but he’s had a really good morning and I think he’s going to have a really good day today. Singing, dancing, smiling, that’s the Shaun we know and love.'

And later Jenny commented that Gillian had predicted her departure from the show, adding: 'She packed her bags, she had her coat ready, she’s a witch…she knew when she was going.'

Later in the show, the celebrities were seen trying to decide which of them would take part in the Bushtucker Trial, Savage Garden Centre.

Dom quickly volunteered for the trial in order to redeem himself after refusing to spend a night in the cave of terror the night before.

He said: 'I should do it as I didn’t go in the cave and I’ve not done one for a while. I’m going to have to face it. I don't know what this one is so it's a risk.'

Playtime: The celebrities were treated to a game of pass the parcel but it wasn't as fun as it first appeared

On his way to the trial, Dom explained: 'One of the reasons I did this today is that I felt I needed to get out and get the adrenaline pumping - I like adrenaline and I like being under pressure.'

When he got to the trial clearing, Dom was told he would have to try and find seven stars that were hidden in a giant greenhouse, two water pots and giant dung heap that made up the Savage Garden Centre.

A clue to the location of each star was given by a garden gnome before the 30 second limit to find the star began. Dom was also told the star would have to be placed in a wheelbarrow before the 30 seconds ran out for it to count and be considered a meal for camp.

But Dom wasn't too happy about the trial, telling Ant and Dec: 'It wasn't what I was hoping for. I'll be brutally honest with you, lads.'

For the first star, Dom was told to 'check out those boxes on the side' by the garden gnome, and quickly rummaged through to find the star before the time ran out - seemingly unconcerned by the rats inside the boxes.

Not so good: Dom was disgusted when he found out there were cockroaches in the package

However, he was unable to locate the second star in the set time.

At one point Dom muttered: 'This is it, the lowest moment in my television career!'
He then won a further two stars but lost out on the rest despite the fact he declared before he started: 'I want to beat Aggro because he’s a very tough rapper and I want to disrespect him to the max.'

So, at the end of the task, Dom only succeeded in getting three stars for camps - meaning three meals to share between the seven remaining celebrities.
Afterwards, he said: 'That was Aggro level, I’m very disappointed with that - it spells loser to me.'

Coming back to camp to inform the celebrities of his trial result, Dom said: 'I thought I’d chicken out, there were spiders there but I threw them across the room, I also got dung on Ant and Dec so that deserves a star.

'I did it all but it was just more annoying that I couldn't find them. But there's nothing I can do about it.'

Yuk! Kayla started screaming when she found a 'leech' on her arm, but her fellow celebrities played the incident down

Having a chat: Jenny and Dom take about their fellow campmates as they sit on the communal sofa

Later the celebrities were treated to a game of pass the parcel, to the soundtrack of In The Jungle.

Wearing party hats, the stars passed around the box, but it was Linford who opened the first layer to find hoards of cockroaches.

Dom said: 'Seriously, for one night, just leave the bloody cockroaches!'
And Kayla added: 'This games sucks, we should be getting food, they know how hungry we are.'

Each layer of the parcel contained a gift from a former contestant, and the first one had Gillian McKeith's own brand health bars inside.

But Dom was less than impressed with the gift, saying: 'Would you eat them? Look at the way she has behaved for the past three weeks, would you really think, "I need whatever health bar she's eating?" Come on!'

He's out: Linford was the latest celebrity to be voted off

Other gifts include coconut butter from Alison Hammond and antiseptic wipes from Britt Eckland.

And it seems being in the jungle is taking its toll on Dom and Jenny, who both admitted they are bored with the conversation between campmates and living in the jungle.

Jenny said: 'I’ve felt fine, weepy, mad, fine, weepy mad today and I’m not sure I can go through another day. It’s like time has stood still like groundhog day.'

Dom added: 'I’ve had it with this endless round of conversation, I need to talk to someone else, if you weren’t here I would have definitely walked, I need to talk about something else, I sit here and listen to endless conversations about sh** music I hate.

'It is groundhog day in ever decreasing circles, I could very much do with Kayla going. She’s really annoying me for no reason at all it’s totally not her fault, it’s mine.'

And while Jenny said Kayla hasn't been annoying her, she added: 'She doesn’t do anything for me at all. I try to be sympathetic but she’s totally disinterested in me and what I do, she’s only asked me one question, what I used my mayonnaise for at home. She told me today she’s worried about her cat.'

Dom agreed: 'That’s the big emotional issue of her life. I think she finds you frightening because you are old. You represent her future.'

Slightly offended, Jenny replied: 'I’m trying not to be insulted by that! She finds Hugh Hefner a bit disgusting to her credit, she cringes about all the girls who actually sleep with him.'

In the evening, the camp were given three kangaroo sausages following Dom's performance in the trial.

And while Dom said he shouldn't have any of the meat, the rest of the camp insisted he should have a little bit of the sausage.

However, Kayla started to annoy Linford when she tried to put herbs and seasoning in with the beans.

He later said: 'I do not like taking orders in the kitchen. The person who is cooking should do the cooking.'

With only seven celebrities left in the camp, conversation topics are starting to dry up, prompting Shaun to tell his campmates about his troubled childhood involving vandalism, theft and selling stolen goods.

The singer admitted: 'As a child I loved getting chased and climbing, also stealing and entering and vandalism. On our industrial estate we had a Schweppes and a Bulmers and by the age of 12 I’d screwed the lot of them.

'I robbed them all. I sold the booze to an ice cream man. Once someone broke into our junior school, chopped the heads off the hamster and guinea pigs, sh** all over the place, smashed the place up and wrote Shaun Ryder on the blackboard. They spelled me name wrong of course.

'Before I was ten, three kids grabbed hold of me and held me down while one booted the hell out of me.

'We also used to get ping pong balls put them in silver paper, burn them and they’d be smoke bombs.'
