Tennis champ Maria Sharapova shows off her huge engagement ring during day out with fiance

Bride-to-be: Newly engaged Maria Sharapova looked happy in love during a lunch date with her basketball player fiance, Sasha Vujacic in Los Angeles yesterday

Guess you can expect to get some serious bling when you are proposed to by one of America's top athletes.

And it seems that 23-year-old tennis champ, Maria Sharapova has not been disappointed when it comes to the size, and quality, of her fiance's offering.

The blond beauty was flashing a serious diamond on her wedding finger yesterday in Los Angeles as she enjoyed a romantic lunch with her husband-to-be, Lakers star Sasha Vujacic.

The couple looked relaxed and happy, and very much in love, as they strolled, hand in hand to their car.

Sharapova was bundled up against the autumn chill but still managed to look stylish in her grey rain mac and black skinny jeans tucked into some knee high suede boots.
At 6ft 2in Sharapova could have worried about finding a man to match her height.

But the former Wimbledon champion has obviously solved the problem by accepting a proposal of marriage from a 6ft 7in tall basketball player.

The couple went public with the news of their engagement the other day.
The 26-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star is understood to have gone down on one knee at his home on Manhattan beach, California.

The two have been dating for nearly a year and went public with their relationship last November when they were seen cuddling at a U2 concert in Los Angeles.

This summer, Sharapova invited Vujacic, from Slovenia, to join her in training at the IMG sport academy in Florida.

Russian-born Miss Sharapova, who was voted the sexiest woman on the tennis circuit, won Wimbledon in 2004 and has been ranked No1 in the world four times.

She recently signed an eight-year contract with Nike worth more than £65 million, making her the most lucratively endorsed sportswoman.
